Ethereal Thoughts
By accident, in 1939, Semyon Kirlian discovered if an object on a photographic plate is subjected to an electrical field, an image will be created on the plate itself. This image is believed to be the spiritual aura (energy), or also known as the “life force” or “divine energy", and surrounds the human body. Think about it as the magnetic field that surrounds a magnet.
The energy flowing through us not only make us who we are, but also affects our surroundings. There are two types of auras:
Main Aura - Various colors of the color spectrum, emanating from the energy center or chakras. The various colors can be photographed and seen by some people. The best way to see an aura is to try squinting your eyes, or by focusing with your peripheral vision. Auras reflect the activity of our health, mental activity, organs and emotional state. They can also show disease long before the onset of physical symptoms. There are many different ways to keep your energy flowing smoothly. Reikki is one method, but there are many others, including some exercises. In the orient, this force is also called the “Chi”.
Etheric Aura - This aura is often referred to as “The vitality sheath” because it holds and recharges the energy force in us. It is a narrow band, outlining the body. It normally is no more than half an inch, but can be thicker depending on the energy flow of the person. It looks like a pale smoke and is in a contracted state while awake. While sleeping, this aura will expand and open to absorb more universal energy.
Kirlian photography claims to have been able to capture "phantom limbs," i.e., when a leaf is placed on a plate and then torn in half and photographed, the whole leaf shows up in the picture. Have you ever heard of any one who has had an arm or leg amputated but still complains about the pain in it? Although our bodies or an object may be distorted by tearing, breaking, or amputation, the divine energy that is us, is whole and complete.
Parapsychologist, Thelma Moss, wrote two books called “The Probability of the Impossible” and “The Body Electric”, popularizing Kirlian photography as a diagnostic medical tool. She believed the possibility of photographing the aura was the “Rosetta Stone” of the medical community. Unfortunately, because the medical community is based on science, they have not taken it as seriously as they should.
What we do know is that color is only energy, the only form of energy that a human being is capable of seeing. If this is a true statement, as science has proven it to be, then they can no longer claim that the aura cannot be seen or photographed because the aura is in fact energy. Although seeing auras is natural for some people, if you have not experienced this, try squinting your eyes as you look at someone, or try to look at their outline, just next to their body itself.
Alberto Villoldo,Ph.D., offers a different concept to auras, one that perhaps should not be taken lightly with all the new information and experiments done in Quantum Physics. Maybe, just maybe, the aura is not just our energy radiating outside the body, BUT may be the energy that actually encapsulates the molecules that make up our physical form. What a fascinating and believable view on the subject, and one that needs to be explored more. Newton's law of gravitivity is now being questioned. Does an apple fall from a tree because of gravity, or is it being pushed down by space?

Debbie is from "United Friends of Orbs". A few months prior to this picture being taken, Debbie had an artist draw her "Spirit Guide". The picture below is the picture that was drawn for her. She has lovingly named her guide "The Chief".
Auras have been seen in this broad form around people, as well as thinner in nature, and in various colors. Some people have learned to "read" the color of auras, much like thermal imaging (the greater the heat, the brighter the color). Some people see the colors as a person's spirituality, some see it as describing their personality, and others see auras as a way of determing physical condition.

June, 2008 - This is just my own theory and I have nothing to back it up, however, it seems on the nights when I get high EMF fluctuations or some other activity occuring, I'm am able to also capture more of my own aura radiating from my body. I can't help but wonder if it is because my children/family are pulling some of my energy out of me in order to make themselves stronger. I tell them often that it is okay to do this if they need the stronger energy. This does not seem to occur at other times, under normal circumstances. The picture just prior to this one also shows orbs as well as my own aura.
