Melissa's Sacred Water Garden

Melissa always wanted me to build her a Water Garden. One day she presented me with a sketch that represented her vision of what the backyard should look like. The sketch was concise and detailed enough to get me motivated.  It was something that I knew would make her happy, so I agreed to do it. I broke ground in the early spring of 2004 and completed the pond and waterfall by June 2004. I'll never forget the look on her face when she returned home from work one Saturday late afternoon around 6:30 pm and I handed her a remote control switch to activate the pump. When she pressed the button and the water began to cascaded over the rocks in the waterfall splashing down into the pond she jumped two feet off the ground with excitement. I finished all of the plantings and landscaping around the pond, and promised her that I would complete the rest of the garden by the end of the year. Melissa passed to spirit three months later, in September 2004. It wasn't until May of 2005 that I felt the strength to fulfill my promise and complete the Sacred Water Garden for Melissa. My passion and determination to complete this project was different now, it became a True Labor of Love. After working up to eight hours a day, seven days a week for 15 weeks I finally completed my mission on September 28th, 2005, the one year anniversary of her passing. I know that it was her that gave me the strength and courage to carry on. When I sit in Melissa's Sacred Garden to Meditate, I can feel her healing energy and eternal love envelope me. I know she is happy, I can "feel" her smile.
